In preparation for the start of our 2020 break season today (Monday 10th February), the CHICKS Daleside Retreat in Derbyshire has undergone a bit of a makeover!
During the 2019/20 off-season, when our team of Respite Break Leaders undergo annual training and the retreat is prepared for the season ahead, Daleside has been renovated both inside and out, ready to welcome more than 600 children in 2020.
A dedicated group of staff and volunteers worked hard cleaning, insulating and decorating the retreat, which welcomes 16 young people for the first break this week.
We would also like to give a huge thanks to everyone who bought items from our Amazon Wishlist, which have given the retreat a new injection of colour, and to Alan Brown Surfacing for the fantastic job they did resurfacing the driveway.
