Matt volunteered on residential breaks at a number of Go Beyond Centres before COVID. This Volunteer’s Week he shares his memories from a very special time of year!
“I’ve had the privilege to volunteer on a number of Go Beyond breaks including a particularly magical one at Christmas. The best aspect of the breaks is being able to see the children at their best – growing in confidence, making lots of new friends and most importantly having fun!
Another wonderful thing about volunteering with Go Beyond is the other adults that you meet. It’s such a diverse group; there are people of every age and background and with lots of different interests.
As such every child, whether they want to bounce as high as the moon on the trampolines or become the next da Vinci in the arts and crafts room, will find a role model there to nurture those interests and build their confidence. And we all have a great laugh with one another whilst achieving that!”
