Ready, steady…snow! This festive season we are inviting runners, cyclists and walkers to complete 12ks of runs, rides or walks to give children facing serious challenges a break from their home lives.

Plymouth-based event organiser Redrok Events has chosen Go Beyond as the beneficiary of Westinsure’s 12k’s of Christmas challenge, which invites people to complete up to 12ks of activity where and when they choose between 1 December and 23 January.

Race Director Suzi Cumberland explained: “‘After a highly successful launch last year, we are pleased to bring back the 12k’s for 2022 and are absolutely delighted to be working alongside Go Beyond as this year’s chosen charity.

“The Westinsure’s 12k’s of Christmas Festive Challenge welcomes participants to run, walk or cycle 12k’s either as a one-off route or as multiple distances throughout the festive season.

“We know that this time of year can be tough for a lot of people, this challenge not only encourages the public to dust off their trainers and get moving but also benefits many local children in need.”

Go Beyond’s Community Fundraising Officer, Sarah Newman, added: “Every Go Beyond break is designed to inspire self-belief in children and young people.

“Our aim is for each child to go home knowing what the world can offer them and what they, in turn, can offer the world.

“We are so thankful to Redrok Events for choosing Go Beyond as the charity for Westinsure’s 12ks of Christmas and to all those who have already signed up to complete the challenge on our behalf.

“Every pound raised will give children and young people a break they’ll remember for a lifetime.”

Entry to Westinsure’s 12k’s of Christmas costs £16 which includes a festive designed t-shirt and a finisher’s medal.
