Thank you for your interest in completing the residential section of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award with Go Beyond.
You can complete this section of your Award by becoming a Go Beyond Break Volunteer. As a Break Volunteer you’ll spend five days and four nights at our centres in Cornwall or Derbyshire, immersing yourself in the whole group’s aim of trying new activities and learning new skills, while making memories with children having a break from the serious challenges they face in their home lives.
As one of the group, you’ll be actively involved in the week’s activities, while encouraging the young people and your fellow volunteers to participate in a range of experiences designed to inspire confidence and self-belief. You’ll stay at our centres alongside other volunteers, the young people and Go Beyond’s own Break Leaders. By getting out, getting involved and being one of the group, you’ll be giving every young person and yourself the moments needed to boost self-belief and think beyond the day to day for a bigger, brighter future.

To complete your residential section, we ask you to consider making a minimum voluntary contribution of £100 to cover the cost of your Go Beyond stay. This contribution will help to fund:
- all your food and drink for the week
- your accommodation
- all the activities you’ll take part in with the group
- transport to and from the railway stations nearest our centres
Thank you for your interest in completing your residential section with Go Beyond. We are excited to have you on board to gain new experiences and skills, create memories, but undoubtably leaving with a feeling that your involvement in the group has had a positive impact on all concerned.
