Having volunteered on three breaks already, including last year’s Christmas break, Chris is coming back to join us this year! Thinking back to the 2014 Christmas break, Chris said: “What particularly struck me was how, during ‘best bit of the week’, no one really talked about presents. Instead, everyone’s favourite bit was the things most people take for granted like going to the beach, playing pool with friends or being together and chatting round a bonfire.”
His favourite CHICKS memory comes from the same break, when they were being treated to lunch at Pizza Express. As a group of them played cards around the table, Chris realised he had forgotten he was a volunteer on a CHICKS break and instead just felt like he was having lunch with friends!
Chris and our 11 other Christmas volunteers will spend the festive season supporting disadvantaged children and giving them a Christmas to remember!
