The Breaks
Go Beyond’s free-of-charge breaks are for children and young people who face serious challenges in their lives. Each break accommodates up to 16 children from one of the following school key stages: Key Stage 2, ages 8-11, and Key Stage 3, ages 11-13. The breaks are run from centres in Cornwall and Derbyshire.
From splashing in the river in their wellies to braving the dizzying heights of a rock climbing wall, each Go Beyond break is packed with activities intended to encourage self-belief and inspire adventure. We operate a no-mobile phone policy for a whole week back to nature and free from technology.

By getting out and getting involved, our biggest hope is for each child to go home knowing they can achieve more than they ever thought possible, inspired by what the world can offer them, and what they in turn can offer the world.
Obviously, none of this would be possible without the help of our brilliant Trustees and Donors, so we are forever grateful for their input. Want to donate? You can make a one-off donation or set up a monthly donation to Go Beyond.

The children and young people
All the children and young people who attend a Go Beyond break are booked a place by a professional, such as a teacher, social worker or youth worker. This means our support is available for the
children and young people who need us the most.

The Team
Every Go Beyond break is led by an expert team of four Break Leaders as well as up to six committed volunteers who have undergone a full training and induction programme. Each member of staff is dedicated to supporting the well-being of the children and young people to ensure they leave with memories that last a lifetime.

The Centres
Breaks run from our Coastal Centre in Tywardreath, Cornwall, located just one mile from the beach, and from our Daleside Centre, set among the rolling hills of Derbyshire. Our Centres themselves are decked out with the ultimate in fun and games including Sports and Arts and Crafts Barns, Games Rooms and communal areas for relaxation and mealtimes.

After the break
Every child and young person leaves with a ‘Go Be You’ Bag containing memories of their break, including diaries of their week, photos and certificates. We also send each child a birthday card and Christmas present in the year following their break, so they remember how much they mean to the whole team here at Go Beyond, and how much we still believe in them.
It’s possible for a child or young person to return to Go Beyond in the following years if they are still in need of a break. We’d love to see you, or them, again!
Read about our long-term impact
“I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the amazing experience I had as a child. I wrote letters to you many times after my break and I always had a reply. It was honestly the most amazing time of my life and I will always be grateful I was given the chance” – Hannah
