Ice Cream Moments 2026

Not every child’s summer is filled with carefree days, fun adventures, and happy memories.

For many of us, summer brings simple joys we never forget. Picnics in the park, sandy toes at the beach, melting ice creams on sunny afternoons, and long evenings that seem to last forever. These are the moments childhood memories are made of.

But for many vulnerable children across the UK, summer can feel very different. Without the routine, support, and safety of school, the holidays can become long weeks of uncertainty, isolation, and challenge.

This year, Ice Cream Moments wants to shine a light on the reality many children face during the summer holidays. For young carers, the break from school often means even greater responsibility at home, without the respite and support school can provide. For children living in poverty or difficult home environments, the safety, structure, and consistency of school suddenly disappears.

And for the 4 million children growing up in poverty across the UK, the loss of free school meals during the holidays can mean going without proper nourishment, regular meals, and the simple comfort of food security.

That’s why we created Ice Cream Moments a campaign celebrating the power of small, joyful experiences to make a lasting difference in a child’s life. Because every child deserves moments of happiness, freedom, and childhood joy during the summer months.

Sometimes, something as simple as sharing an ice cream can help a child feel safe enough to smile, relax, connect, and simply enjoy being a child.

By donating the cost of an ice cream, you can help us raise awareness of the challenges vulnerable children face during the holidays while helping create unforgettable summer experiences filled with joy, care, and connection.

Just £4 can give a scoop of sunshine to a vulnerable child this summer and help give them a summer they’ll never forget.
