Go Beyond Break Leader Tiegan Lee is putting her fear of heights behind her to complete a skydive and raise vital funds for the charity.

Tiegan decided to take to the skies for the charity having joined as a Break Leader in January this year. She explained: “The reason I want to do this skydive for Go Beyond is because from my very first day here at Go Beyond’s Coastal Centre I was blown away with how many young people the charity supports and all the opportunities that we can offer them.

“I want to be able to use this as an example to show the young people that if I can do a skydive then they can do anything…because I’m scared of heights!”

Running year-round from Cornwall and Derbyshire, every Go Beyond break is packed with activities intended to encourage self-belief and inspire adventure, while experiencing the wonder of the outdoors.

Tiegan added: “On our breaks with the young people, we have a ‘challenge’ day, so they may face their fears of heights and push themselves to reach the top of a rock-climbing wall, or even just step foot onto the wall. If my job is to help encourage and push these young people to challenge themselves then I think it’s only right that I push myself out of my comfort zone and jump out of a plane!”

Tiegan is hoping her skydive, which takes place in June this year, will raise £1,000 for Go Beyond.

“Go Beyond is an amazing charity that puts children first and provides them with the most amazing and memorable life experiences which they can cherish forever. By donating, Go Beyond can provide these experiences to so many more vulnerable young people and help give them the opportunity to be a child again,” said Tiegan.

Go Beyond’s Community Fundraising and Systems Officer, Sarah Newman, added: “Our huge thanks to go Tiegan for organising this amazing challenge to raise funds for the young people she and the Break Leader team support on a weekly basis. Every pound raised will give more children and young people the chance to make memories they’ll treasure for a lifetime. We are so grateful and would like to wish her the very best of luck with her skydive.”
