A huge thanks to our friends at Ashbourne Rotary Club who have organised a virtual balloon race and have chosen Go Beyond as one of the two local charities
to benefit!
Following on from their successful Easter race, it is back again for Christmas!
Working just the same as a real-life balloon, entrants buy a balloon (£3 each) and then, once released on Christmas Day, the balloons have 7 days to travel as far as they can with the one that travels the furthest, winning!
However, to make it environmentally friendly, the race is run on-line, and it uses statistical modelling and virtual maps to predict the winner! Each balloon can be fully customised and can be tracked on line.
The race starts on Christmas Day from Lapland and runs for seven days. If you fancy getting involved, you can buy a balloon here
